Dear Editors,

I read the long article by your special correspondent, Wudineh Zenebe, which appeared in your paper of April 27, 2008 (Vol.9 No. 417).

The article is entitled ““Fire Brigades” Fail to end City Woes” and as is usually the case, heaps blame on the Caretaker Administration for the challenging problems Addis Ababa is facing. This is because “… Most of their targets in various sectors were a disappointment “. The writer goes on to list a catalogue of  “failures” ranging from unemployment, delays in completion of development projects, housing shortage, inadequate infrastructure, illegal land transfers, etc.
