The iconic upscale business street officially named Africa Avenue but commonly known as Bole Road is finally undergoing rebirth, after years of delays.
Logistics Malaise-Regulate, Monopolise Not!

Uncompetitive export has become the emerging headache of the government. As long as agricultural commodities dominate the exports of the nation, transport costs constitute a large portion of the total export value. Research by the World Bank Group (WBG) puts the average share of transport at 28pc. While it costs 0.07 dollar cents to transport a shirt from Bangkok, Thailand, to New York, the cost of transporting the same shirt from Addis Abeba to New York is 0.11 dollar cents. While it takes 27 days for a Thai exporter to see her goods in the shelves of New York, studies show, it takes five more days for the Ethiopian exporter. It also found that importing goods from the US is cheaper for Djibouti, Algiers, and Beijing than for Ethiopia.
