Unfortunate Error or Miscarriage of
Professionalism |
|
Dear
Editor,
This
relates to a news story that appeared on your issue of June
15, 2008, regarding the finalization of the court case of
the former Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) officials. Your
coverage of the case is much appreciated, and I realize that
the public has the right to know, as much as your profession
has the obligation to provide, accurate and fair information
in a timely fashion. |

More Land Tax, More Stress |
|
Dear Editor,
I read
the article written by Noah Safari headlined, “Additional
Land Tax Possible Supplement to Gov’t Revenue” on your issue
of June 1, 2008, (Volume 9 Number 422) with great curiosity.
Though I found it interesting, I strongly disagree with its
recommendations. The writer is of the opinion that the
government should levy more tax on land. |

Let the Truth Be Told |
|
Dear Editor,
Your news
story headlined, “The Inconvenient Truth” [Volume 9 Number
423, June 8, 2008] is very well written and has strong
element of original reporting: Kudos to your
correspondents. I was especially impressed with the
beginning few paragraphs, which were extremely vivid
and compelling. |
