Ceremonial to the
core of freshly roasted black beans wafting a
scintillating scent filling the nasal passage with
robust anticipation. Ornamentally situated, the
elaborate materials captivate the height of social
interaction for a 30-minute sensual experience.
The famed
Ethiopian coffee ceremony remains at the centre of
communal gatherings across its birth country. Three
rounds (abol, bereka and tona)
accompanied by the haze of incense and the crunch of
popcorn has become an iconic symbol of hospitality
and used to market the growth of the country’s
number one export.
Now, in this
historic year, the Ethiopian Millennium 2000 Coffee
Ceremony Organiser presents “Buna Tetu” presents an
eight-week programme beginning on February 22, 2008,
at 4:30pm to promote this age-old tradition. Next
Friday’s demonstration around Arat Kilo is hoped to
stimulate interest to form the international ECoffee
Club worldwide.
