A photo sent by one of our readers shows a state-run Victory Duty-Free Store ablaze on Friday, November 30, in the early morning before employees of the store reported to duty. The store is one of the three duty-free stores operated by the Ethiopian Tourist Trading Enterprise (ETTE) on Djibouti Street, close to theBisrate Gabriel Church. Two thirds of Victory were damaged by the fire, the source of which was still under investigation at press time on Saturday.

Enterprise did not give an estimate of the value of the property damage caused by the fire, which took fire-fighters over two hours to put out. No casualty or injury was reported, with the exception of one individual taken to a nearby clinic for smoke inhalation.
