Matti Multiplex Opens as Film Festival Ends

As the curtain fell closing the second Ethiopian Film Festival, the doors opened on Addis Abeba's newest cinema, Matti Multiplex. While both events occurred last Friday, they seem worlds apart.
 

Stepping off the road across from Bole Medanialem Church, avoiding piles of gravel from the rampant construction, and entering Edna Mall's glass doors is like leaving a chaotically modernising city and being surrounded by its future goal.
