		<item><title>ELECTION BUSINESS</title><description>From left Hailemariam Desalegn, member of the central committee of EPRDF, and government whip at Parliament, Getu Gelete, owner and co-owner of several businesses including GetAs International and Getu Commercial Centre, and Woinshet Shewatsega, major shareholder of Woinu Curtai  Plc and far left Tsegaye Abebe, president of the Ethiopian Horticultural Producers-Exporters Association at a meeting held at the Addis Abeba Convention Centre on April 7, 2010. The meeting, organised by a committee of 60 prominent businesspeople, was attended by over 1000 businesspersons who pledged to support EPRDF. They demonstrated their full support to the ruling party by managing to raise more than 20 million Br. The community stressed the need to maintain the status quo and pledged to give their support during the election as well. They gave priority to the need to maintain peace during or after the upcoming election.
