Subscribers to broadband
services of the Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation (ETC) may feel that
they could have 20 times more speed than the dialup connection. However, a

the United States. The magnitude of budget deficits
– like the magnitude of the downturn – has taken

|
Hailu Shawel

told the Amharic weekly newspaper, Negadras, on March 5, 2010.
This excerpt was extracted from the newspaper in which AEUO
accused the incumbent of 30 different issues, of which 27 of
them were deemed baseless by the incumbent. |

put in place a shaky government that gained a
semblance of stability after a lot of bloodshed, was
only months old when a group of irate young students
quit college to start a war that would take 17
years. The name they chose for their movement told
their mission – liberating Tigray from whatever it
was the founders had in mind.
