The Ethiopian Political Parties’ Council met on
Wednesday, February 25, 2010, and fixed nine
debating points for Monday, March 1.
The political parties in the council meet at least
twice weekly to solve any problems the parties may
have or to set an agenda for debate.
Tomorrow’s agenda involves a discussion on a host of
issues pertinent to Ethiopia since 1991, according
to Ayele Chamiso, chairman of the Coalition for
Unity and Democracy (CUD), which include democratic
forums, parties and election in Ethiopia; federalism
and decentralised administration; good governance,
human rights and rule of law in Ethiopia; foreign
relations; education and human resource development;
health care; agriculture, land ownership and
development; urban and industrial development; and
infrastructure development.
The council has not yet decided on financial
management and development as a debating point,
according Ayele.
The debate was supposed to be held last Friday 26,
2010, but was moved to tomorrow because of Mawlid,
the Muslim holiday. |
