Prime
Minister Meles Zenawi said, on December 16, 2009, in his speech
addressing the climate change summit held in Copenhagen,
Denmark. He was trying to underline that Africa loses more if
the participants of the summit do not reach an agreement. As the
leader of the African delegation, Meles proposed and demanded
long-term and start-up financing from developed countries
including a fund of 10 billion dollars per annum for three
years, from 2010 to 2012, for adaptation and mitigation tasks,
including those related to forestry. |
